4th of July!

We love the 4th of July!
This year my sister and brother-in-law invited us to go with them to the Kaysville parade. Matt's family goes every year so they had a nice spot saved! It was really fun. I guess they have a big water fight/ water parade after, but we skipped that part. I'm pretty sure Baylee would have hated it :)

It was so nice to have an overcast day, so it wasn't too hot!
This was a truck with military veterans in it!

Baylee liked the parade, but she didn't like the people throwing candy at her!
She liked the candy, just not the having it chucked at you part!

I took the kids to see the fireworks that night and Mark stayed home so he could sleep because he had to get up early and go to work the next day.
But, before we went to the fireworks we had a BBQ at my mom's house. It was lots of fun!

I took a picture of the treats I took to the BBQ!
Homemade oreos, indoor s'mores, and s'more cookies!

I love s'more cookies!

Last year Baylee was kind of afraid of the fireworks, but she really seemed to like them this year!

Owen wasn't afraid of fireworks. He was just afraid of sitting in the back of my car!

We parked in the stake center by Weber High School (where the light the fireworks). Then I took the car seats out and folded down the back. I though it would be fun to sit in there.
(Good thing I brought chairs! We just sat outside by the car and he was perfectly happy.)

Owen did not agree! For some reason it completely freaked him out!

Baylee thought it was fun though!

Owen is a walking baby!

Do you really have to call kids toddlers once they can walk? I'm not going to. I'm not ready for Owen to be a toddler. I'm just going to call him my walking baby.
It's so funny how with the first kid you really want them to hurry and reach all these milestones, but the second time around you just want them to not grow up so fast! Owen took his first steps probably a month or so ago and now he's really getting consistent about this walking thing. I have to admit though it's pretty darn cute to see him toddling around the house! It still kind of catches me off guard! Today when I came home from work I walked into the kitchen and Owen just walked up to me and put out his arms so I'd pick him up! He's so sweet! I just love my walking baby!

This is the best video I've been able to get of him walking so far. Every time he sees an electronic device he cries until you give it to him! There have been many times when Owen has been doing something cute, but the second he sees the camera he stops what he's doing and starts crying until he gets the camera!

Happy Anniversary! Six years!

Mark and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on July 1st!

We went to the Bountiful temple in the morning!
Thanks again for watching our kids Steph!

Then we got a babysitter for that evening and we went to color me mine in Ogden!
It was so fun!

Mark made a WSU plate!
We can't get enough Weber stuff around our house ;)

I painted flowers on an oval platter!

Ta-da! I stole this idea from a friend of mine!
I saw a plate she made there on facebook, so I tried to copy it!

How it works is you go in and they have a bunch of ceramic stuff to choose from. Then you get to paint it and they fire them and you go pick it up in a week!
We were there for almost three hours painting! It was a lot of fun though we both really liked it! There was even a "meathead" guy in there paining while we were there so anyone can do it :)

Then after we got done painting we went to prairie schooner for dinner. I hadn't been there before and I've always wanted to try it. It was fun, but a little pricey!
We were planning on going to a movie afterwards too, but since our painting took so long we didn't get done with dinner in time. I told our babysitter we would be out pretty late, but we were home by 10:30! I guess we're getting old! We can't even stay out late if we try!

Mark went to pick up our plates today! I think they turned out pretty good!

They are kind of fun! I need to take a treat somewhere on this baby now!

Dogs, Dogs, Dogs!

Mark and Baylee want a dog! They really really want a dog! But, we just don't have room in our house right now and we also don't have our own backyard.
So last week Mark wanted to take the kids to the animal shelter to walk some dogs. It was lots of fun!
Baylee really loved this little dog! I'm pretty sure it was full grown, but Baylee said, "If I take it home and feed it and let it sleep it will grow big!"

We really liked this dog! He was so sweet and mellow!
If we do ever get a dog I want a mellow one for sure!

He really was sweet. He was 7 months old and very well behaved! If you want this dog go to the Weber County animal shelter by the fair grounds. His name is Bandit!

Mark wanted to walk this huge dog! He kind of scared the kids though so we didn't go with him! He jumped on Baylee and she didn't want anything to do with him after that.

Summer Randomness. . .

Here are a bunch of pictures of things we've been doing this summer! I keep forgetting to take my camera everywhere so a lot of them are cell phone pictures again!

I took the kids to costco one day I think they look so cute in the double shopping cart! I wish they had these at every store!

We went to Beus pond with my friend Carly and her little girl Scarlett to feed the ducks!

Owen LOVES to be outside! And he also loves his toothbrush. . . he carries it around everywhere and cries when I take it away from him!

Baylee took some toys over to the playground the other day. She was giving that little doll a haircut, but I didn't get my camera out in time to capture the moment!

Baylee loves to play at the playground.

Baylee had a picnic with all of her princesses.
She was feeding Jasmine a goldfish in this pictures.

She was having goldfish in a pail for lunch! She made it herself!

I got a bountiful basket for the first time last Saturday. Not a bad deal for $15 , but some of the food was really really ripe! We had to hurry and eat it!

Baylee wasted no time eating the bananas!

We babysat my nephew Beau one day last week!
It was fun, we loved having him over to play!
Owen and Beau were sitting on the couch drinking their bottles in this one!

I bought Baylee some bathtub crayons a couple of weeks ago and she colored the walls and her face. She told me she was a clown, so we put on a clown shirt and did some clown hair too!

She thought it was hilarious!

I have a flower pot by my front door that I haven't put any flowers in yet. One day Baylee was outside and hooked the hose to the faucet up front and filled up the pot!

She said she was trying to attract pigs!
(We have a book about the three little pigs and they like to be muddy in the book.)

Baylee took it a little too far when she started covering Owen and herself in mud! Not to mention my front door. I had to put them both in the bath tub and it took a long time to get then all clean!

We love summer!

Brian and Karla's wedding

Wow! We've had a lot going on this summer! Get ready for a bunch of catch up posts :)

First off my little brother got married on June 11th in the Bountiful temple! Then they went on their honeymoon and had the reception on June 25th! It was lots of fun! We're so excited to have Karla as part of our family!

The Newlyweds!
(I kept forgetting to bring my camera,
so sorry for all the cell phone pics!)

Baylee and me at the luncheon!

Mark and me!

This was the kids playing duck duck goose at the reception!

This is my cousins daughter Bobbi Jean she was so nice to chase my kids around for me! They loved playing with her. She kept them so entertained!

I tried to take a picture of our family, but Baylee was too busy running around!
Not surprised?

Here Karla is throwing the bouquet!

Here is Baylee in her cute little outfit!
See her ruffle shoes that match her skirt?

Here is me, Baylee, and Grandpa Mitchell!

I love weddings! The end!

We are a circus!

So this was us in Sacrament meeting today. . .
Baylee was being loud and kind of disruptive during the Sacrament, so when it was over Mark took her out in the hall.
They turned the time over for testimonies and no one was getting up. It had probably only been a few seconds, but that empty space feels so long. I had been feeling like I should bare my testimony so I went up and took Owen with me. That went ok, I kind of had to cut it short cause he started being noisy and reaching for the microphone. I'm not really a public speaker though so that was fine with me :)
Then a couple of testimonies later Mark goes up to bare his testimony. He was sitting on the isle with Owen then there was Baylee then me. He started walking up front. Owen took off crawling after him and crying. I had to go up the isle and grab Owen (we were also sitting back in the overflow because there was a baby blessing today so were clear in the back of the chapel too). Then I go back and sit by Baylee and she starts crying and whining, "Where is daddy? I can't find my DADDY!"
So, I point him out to her up on the stand (there was a sister in our ward sharing her testimony so Mark was just sitting on the stand waiting for his turn). Baylee goes heading up the isle for Mark and I just let her go because Owen was still being a little fussy. She was sitting by Mark and he got up for his testimony and she just sat on the stand. I'm listening to Mark's testimony and I hear this kind of weird noise. Then I heard it again, then I looked at the Bishop and his counselors and they were looking at the organ. I look over at the organ and there's Baylee hitting some keys on the organ!
Owen had kind of crawled away from me at this point, so I go heading up the isle to grab Baylee! Then I hear him crying, I almost went back for him, but I just went and grabbed her. When I came back a girl in my ward had Owen, so I sat by them. Then Baylee wouldn't stay with me she still wanted her daddy, so she went back up to the stand. Owen was being fussy again so I took him out in the hall! It was so crazy, and so embarrassing! We were like a circus act in the middle of sacrament meeting. I just wanted to write it down so someday I can look back and laugh. . . I'm sure someday it will be funny.
