My 5K. . . and Mother's Day!

I ran the 5K at the Ogden Marathon yesterday! It was lots of fun! I started training for it about 8 weeks ago. It was my first time running a 5K. I have been telling Mark for years how I want to run, and I want to run a half marathon, but I've just never had the time to train for it. I finally decided I needed to start with the 5K and get that done with then I could try the half.
At first I figured if I could do it in under 30 minutes I'd be happy. When I started training I didn't really time myself, but I figured I was running about a 10-minute mile. Then about two weeks ago I downloaded an app on my phone that tracks where you run and your pace. When I ran with that I realized I was actually running about an 8-minute mile!
The 5k stared by the Timbermine in Ogden then went down 18th street and then along Grant Ave. to the finishline! It was a beautiful day for running! My time was 25 minutes 30 seconds! About an 8:14 minute mile! I actually came in 3rd in my age group! (Although there were plenty of 10-year-olds that beat me! And I did cross the finish line about the same time as a pregnant lady. . .she was one fit pregnant lady though!)
Mark was so supportive! The night before my race he gave me a rose, some vitamin water, and a card! He was so sweet to stay home with the kids during all of the nights I left them to go run! It looks like they are going to have even more nights with me gone too because I already signed up to run the Top of Utah half marathon! So I'll be running a lot more then 3.1 miles!

Just thought I'd throw this picture of us on Mother's day in this post! I just wanted a pictures of me with my kidos on Mother's day but Baylee would only make her "silly" face (also don't mind her lady-like pose there). And Owen wouldn't let go of the chip clip!
I did have a wonderful mothers day though! Mark and Baylee made me breakfast in bed! They were so sweet! I love my little family!

Owen's First Birthday!

Owen is one! We had lots of fun celebrating our little guy's 1st Birthday!
This was the invite to his party!

We had his party on Sunday, but his birthday was on Thursday so we had a lot of cake and presents this week!

We went to the park because it was finally a nice warm day!
(Too bad that didn't last!)

On Friday I took Owen around town to take some one-year-old birthday pictures!

I love this sweet little guy!

Then our party with all of the family was fun! My friend helped me decorate a big football field cake for Owen then his little cake was a football!
Owen was totally spoiled with presents this year! Grandma and Grandpa gave him a new wagon and Nana and Papa gave him a sand/water table! Now if it will ever warm up we'll be happy to use them!
It was a perfect kite flying day! I bought Baylee a kite a few weeks ago so I was excited to use it, but Baylee was worried that it would blow away! So she made us keep it inside!

Happy Birthday Owen! We love you so much!

Happy Birthday to my baby boy!

Owen turns one today!

How can they change so much in just one tiny little year?

Really, I can't believe how fast this year has gone by!

I love this little guy!

Swag Bucks. . . .

Have you heard of swagbucks before? Well, I follow freebies2deals on facebook and I saw it mentioned on there before. The girl who does freebies2deals said she knows people who pay for their Christmas by earning swagbucks. I don't really know if that is possible, but I now have over 1,000 swagbucks. Impressive, I know. That's enough for a $10 gift card to amazon.com or you can choose from a bunch of other prizes. I think I'm going to keep saving for more amazon giftcards though.
Basically swagbucks is a search engine, but sometimes when you search for things it will say you won 7 swagbucks or whatever. There are also other ways to earn swagbucks. I started Mark on swagbucks and he likes to play crusher. You can enter tournaments and if you win you can win swagbucks. I usually lose though, so I don't play games :) You can print coupons from swagbucks and then when you redeem them at a local store you get 10 swagbucks added to your account. Also if you ever buy anything from groupon or a daily deal sight like that you can usually get swagbucks for it. You can also get referals, then when your referals get swagbucks you get more swagbucks. That is why I'm blogging about this. So if you're interested (and who wouldn't be after this riveting post) click here.
